I’ve talked a number of times about my “playpals” on this blog. I even have a separate page for them. Basically, we are a handful of women writers who came together several years ago to talk naughty and not get slapped by a “Mean Ole Sheriff” on the main loop. Funny thing: *I* was that Mean Ole Sheriff! Yes, my nickname was evermore “MOS.” I was the chapter president and, although I wanted to join in on the fun, I was forced to be a leader and ask these gals to take their naughtiness off the loop! Believe it or not, they asked me to join!

At that point, we were twenty-odd writers who had won or finalled in many contests, but had not yet gotten “the call.” Only a few years later, twelve of us are published and there have been more than fifteen Golden Heart finals! And we aren’t stopping yet. Each year, two or three of us makes that first sale and are on the road to living our dreams!
