I have to admit that I never realized what those lyrics actually said in the Sade song.
Yeah, there’s some real crap in there.
What I want to know is, if he’s out in the middle of the desert by himself, why doesn’t he just name the blasted horse?
Although “Manic Monday” is catchy, it’s definitely not one of Prince’s stronger writing efforts. No wonder he gave it away.
I’ll have to check out Spinner to see if Paul McCartney made the list for one of the lines in “Live and Let Die”:
But in this ever changing world in which we live in.
And the craziest part is, they are all making oodles of money. Shakes head. Happy T13!
Lisa,
I did recognize those lyrics on Sade’s song and always shook my head. On some of the others, I always thought I was just singing it wrong - guess not!!
Adelle,
Really makes you wonder, doesn’t it? As an author, we write so many more words than a song and it’s so hard to get them published and we make way less money! Guess I should stop trying so hard! LOL!
Carol,
I always wondered the same thing! Just name the damn horse already…what’s the hold-up? LOL!
Malcolm,
That one DID make the list! And for that exact phrase: But in this ever changing world in which we live in.
Not very creative, is it?
I never noticed some of these. Wow… these are popular songs, too. How have they gotten away with these awful lyrics?!?
Come visit Wani’s World to check out my TT this week!
Awww, man. And I actually like some of those songs! Thanks for an interesting list.
Happy TT!
Isn’t Kohl’s using #8 in one of their TV ads? Happy TT.
