Can’t believe I’ve never heard that the oldest tree fossils were found in New York state, dating back 380 million years old. Now THAT is old!
Or how about that 2,000 year old date palm seed that is now a thriving sapling.
And there is the story of the bizarre looking tree only known from a 120 million year old fossil suddenly being found alive and well in Sydney, Australia.

Have you seen the latest in ebook technology? It’s the Kindle by Amazon. It’s got a pretty big pricetag as compared to other eReaders.
Yahoo has a good description and review of it, even saying:
…the Kindle is designed to be usable sans computer. It connects directly to a special Sprint-powered cellular network called Whispernet (not Wi-Fi) and lets you download directly from the web. However, there are no additional monthly service fees for the privilege.
The big question with these devices is always the screen. Kindle uses the same display technology that the similar Sony Reader uses, called E-Ink. The screen looks as much like paper as electronic displays get; it also allows for exceptional battery life since, once a page is generated, it requires no additional power to keep it displayed.
What I’ve got to say is that ebooks have been around for about ten years. And it’s just amazing how suddenly the paper-published authors are all excited by this “new” technology for their books. It ain’t all that new. It’s just something that is becoming accepted by the more mainstream.
By the way, ALL of my works are available electronically.

Okay, so I usually hate my big hips. They make buying pants difficult and everyone is always telling me it’s the hardest place to lose weight. But now I think I’ll start to be appreciative. Apparently, they’re helping to make my kids smart! Basically the reasoning behind this is:
CURVIER women may have smart children because hip fat contains polyunsaturated fatty acids critical for the development of the fetus’s brain.
So there you have it…those curves might prevent me from sitting comfortably on a swing or wearing the lastest fashions, but I’m *certain* my kids are geniuses!

I’ve found several interesting articles on the female body shape. Here’s the first:
As someone interested in evolution and science, I’ve always wondered about the differences between humans and other primates. Why did humans evolve so differently in some areas, despite having such close DNA? One area of disparity is the female breasts. Other primates have flat chests with nipples for their young. Why did humans alone develop the larger protrusions?
A biological anthropologist (cool job!) was curious, as well. Her theory is suffocation. Due to the flat noses of newborns, if they nursed while pressed directly against the chest wall, they would likely smother. It’s a compelling theory:
Could the breast have evolved and enlarged precisely to give infants room to breathe?
Most primate infants aren’t at risk of suffocation, she realised, because they have a protruding jaw and lips. So she suggests that the breast co-evolved with human facial features.
As the face became flatter, the breast became larger to compensate. “If infants were dying, that would have provided a very strong selection,” she says.

I thought it was cool enough to find my friend Cheryl’s book LORD OF THE FADING LANDS at my local grocery store. She was nestled between Susan Wiggs and Kathleen Woodiwiss. Of course, I immediately picked it up and purchased it.
But the next day I learn that not only has this book hit the USA Today list, but her second book, LADY OF LIGHT AND SHADOWS, hit the USA Today list at #88 and the New York Times list at #26!!!! WAY TO GO!!!!

> 5 grams of 23-karat edible gold
> gold lined goblet
> an 18-karat gold bracelet with 1 carat of white diamonds

Picture of the amazing dessert!

Singapore Airlines, who has created the new Airbus 380, has said that passengers in their private rooms cannot have sex. The controversy is that these rooms are luxurious cabins with double beds, private TV, etc.
So if you plan on spending the dough on having such a room on your long flight, don’t plan on getting romantic. It may offend other customers and crew outside the non-sound proofed walls.
My question is: what would you do when the seatbelt light came on?
