Improper Nights up for Best Book!

Posted by Leslie on September 20th, 2008 | 1 Comment

Wow! I was worried I wouldn’t get another review for this story! But check this out, I got 5 cherries and have been nominated for the Best Book of the week poll!

The reviewer has this to say:

The passion that occurs between Lenora and Blackford is well-written, hot and is guaranteed to quicken your pulse. As I followed along with Lenora and Black’s nightly trysts, I couldn’t help but feel pain for their desperation. The author has done a wonderful job of allowing the reader to understand and sympathize with the characters needs: from filling each other with lust to falling deeply in love.

And congrats to my pal Betty Hanawa who is also nominated for Turquoise Dreams! Woo Hoo!

Catching Up!

Wow. Well, I apologize for not blogging in nearly a week. My return from Vegas left me busier than ever at home and at work. I’ve not had time to drool over Gerry pictures, much less blog (or write!). So, here I am, at 3:30 am writing a catch-up blog of things I’ve been wanting to mention…

First off, the Romance Studio reviewed IMPROPER NIGHTS and gave it 4.5 hearts! Reviewer Sandra had this to say:

This was an excellent story. Lenora is a strong woman, not afraid to go after what she wants and to do her duty even at the cost of her heart. Black is torn between fighting for the woman he has grown to love at the risk of losing everything or walking away from her and getting what has been promised to him since childhood. I enjoyed this story from the first page. The immediate passion that burns between these two characters ignites into scorching love scenes, but it’s the emotion they share that truly makes this story. Excellent job Ms. Dicken. I look forward to reading more from this great author.

I’ve read the first two books in The Hidden Grotto Series by Louisa Burton. They were unusual, yet fascinating. I’m planning on writing up a more detailed review – when I get the time!! If you like polished, not over-the-top erotica then I highly suggest her books!

Reviewer Nicole had this to say:

Leslie Dicken creates a complex, heartfelt tale of love and deception. Sincere characters with depth are a shining star for this story. The plot is intricate and superbly written. The ending is satisfying enough for even the most romantic at heart. A Tarnished Heart is an outstanding accomplishment for Dicken.

Coffee Time Romance reviews ATH

Alex at Coffee Time gave A TARNISHED HEART three cups and called it “a good read.”

A Tarnished Heart is an enjoyable read. The characters of Lizzie and Evan are handled well, and their relationship develops naturally yet inexorably. It is amusing at times to see how they dance around each other, neither of them willing to admit the depth of their attraction. The plot line also works quite well and keeps the story moving forward.

New Review!

Yay! I finally got another review for this sexy short story! Two Lips gave it 4/5 and had this to say:

The Lady’s Bargain by Leslie Dicken is a fun and romantic read with a little humor thrown in to balance it out. Ms. Dicken manages to pack a lot into so few pages but keeps the historical feel of the time alive and intact. A good, quick read when you want to treat yourself and don’t have “novel” time.

They gave SECRET INTENTIONS a 4.5 out of 5 and had this to say:

Ms. Dicken writes a splendidly romantic historical novel. I fell in love with her characters and would have liked the book to continue. If only we could live the lives of others for not just a moment for their entire lives. This book made me want to continue reading, but alas I was on the last page. I hope Ms. Dicken continues with another book.

Finally! A Review!

I thought I’d never get a review of SECRET INTENTIONS! Perhaps people just don’t like roses! LOL! But, lo and behold, after doing my egoogle (that’s “ego” + “google”) I found one! Yippee! And not only that, I got 4.5 hearts (out of 5). The Romance Studio had this to say:

Leslie Dicken wrote a wonderful story about the pros and cons of life as part of the ton versus country living. She examined characters from both extremes and how each interacted with others while living in each place…This is a very good story which, I promise, has surprises all the way to the very end! You will be glad to have read this story, I guarantee!

Champagne is on me today!!! :-)

LADY gets *five* Angels!

Posted by Leslie on March 3rd, 2007 | No Comments

Wow! Fallen Angel Reviews gave The Lady’s Bargain 5 Angels! Here’s what the reviewer has to say:

Mrs. Dicken has done an excellent job creating The Lady’s Bargain…This quick story is a pleasurable read and fans of historical romance should definitely give Mrs. Dicken a chance.

Coffee Time Romance had this to say about The Lady’s Bargain:

Ms. Dicken has written a very sweet love story. The attraction between Christine and William builds very quickly. When they come together, the union is explosive. This book shows that sometimes the ultimate bargain is made to save something we believe in. But in the end, both sides sometimes win when the bargain is sealed.
